House Adopts Budget Plan that Targets Federal Fire Fighters

May 10, 2012 – The House of Representatives has brushed aside objections from the White House and the IAFF to endorse a budget plan that will result in significant cutbacks in fire protection and require federal fire fighters to pay more out of pocket to qualify for a pension. The official 2nd half 2012 schedule is out. Please figure out what days you'll be taking now. We need to keep the list moving. As a reminder, no more than 2 Bargaining Unit Members are allowed to take the same day off. To check the list, go to the "Member Home" page. Give completed pick request forms to Mike Holmes or Frank McCleaster. You'll be notified when your turn is up...please be ready!

Our next quarterly general membership meetings are scheduled for Thursday April 26th and Friday April 27th. Both meetings will start at 1700 sharp on the patio (behind the fireplace) at The Cabin on Rt. 33 in Howell/Freehold. All current and retired members are urged to attend. Captain Brian Denegar Retiring After 30 Years of Service

Captain Denegar is hanging it up after 30 years of service! Local F-147 will be hosting a retirement dinner in his honor on November 20th starting at 1700 at the waterfront firehouse. All food and beverages will be provided by Local F-147. All current, former and retired members are encouraged to attend. Please help us give Brian the proper send off that he deserves. Hope to see you all there.
